Satisfied iPhone Repair Customer from Dover-330-866-0446

August 9th, 2017 No Comments »

Recently, I had a customer stop in my shop when her phone screen stopped working.  She said that she had just had her phone repaired at a competitor’s business and that business would not stand behind their repair.  As a local business, we always go the extra mile for my customers.  Maybe that is why we have had people drive from as far away as Cleveland to have their phones repaired.  Anyway, this lady lived in Dover and drove to our shop in East Sparta to have me look at her phone and why the brand new screen was not working.  As soon as I opened the phone, I discovered that there were several parts missing.  These are odd parts to be missing and they are not parts that would fail and need replaced.  These are screws and metal plates that we are talking about, but they serve a very important function.  I was able to get her phone working for her, but two weeks later, her screen stopped working again because of the missing parts that the “repair facility” left out.  This customer called the person that repaired her phone the first time and asked for her missing parts back.  The repair person yelled at her and hung up.  I am not mentioning the name of the shop or the repair person, as this post is not about tearing them down, but it is about watching where you do business.  This “repair facility” is actually just somebody’s house.  This poor lady was required (by the other guy) to drop her phone off, wait four days for parts to arrive, then was given a phone that did not have all of the necessary parts reinstalled.

Please folks, don’t trust your phone to just anybody who says that they can fix it.  This has been our only business for seven years now.  Seven years of serving the Akron/Canton, Dover, East Sparta, Magnolia, Waynesburg, and New Philadelphia areas.  We have an actual shop, not just a house. We have an investment and an interest in making the company succeed, which means that we treat customers fairly.   Call to schedule your appointment and have your iPhone repaired WHILE YOU WAIT.

Are you having trouble charging your phone? Call or text 330-866-0446

Are you having a tough time to get your phone to charge? Are you having to do “the combination” to get it to charge? I would suggest trying a new wire first, or try another phone with that wire to see if it does the same thing. Another common issue on the new style iPhone plugs, is the port in the phone gets filled up with pocket lint and does not allow the plug to make good contact. You can easily see for yourself if this is the case by plugging your wire into the phone, if the shoulder does not rest on the phone, lint is a good possibility of the cause. I clean charging ports out for free. If that is not the problem, I can help you out determine the problem and fix it. A few photos below show the wire in this iPhone 5 not resting in proper place, causing the owner to have to preform a combination to get his phone to charge. The picture of the plug resting fully against phone is after I cleaned the port out, and charging was returned to normal.

Don’t fall for the cheap screen repair kits online, call or text 330-866-0446 for fast professional repair.

Have you seen the screen kits online for $10 and been tempted to do the repair yourself in just “20 minutes”? Sure they sell just the outer glass for really cheap, and this one in particular boast it is only a 20 minute repair. It comes with no instructions and refers you to watch Youtube videos. The second picture is what a customer sent me asking to help her out. It turns out it is not a “20 minute” repair, even with the help of the Youtube video. After getting her phone up to speed with a new screen, I decided to go to Youtube and see just how easy this must be. After watching a couple videos on the separation, It is nearly impossible to separate the broken glass off your lcd without damaging it. I had bought special equipment in hopes of being able to change just the broken glass and I ruined about 100-150 lcd screens in the process. If you read the comments on the video you get a true feel for what actually needs to be done. This 20 minute screen kit that comes with “everything” needed does not come with LOCA adhesive or a uv light to cure the new glue. The curing process in itself is 30-60 minutes. It also does not come with an alignment tool to make sure the touch screen aligns perfectly on the lcd screen so it goes back together properly, as there is ZERO tolerance in the assembly process. Don’t be tempted to save big money on the “easy” repair, It is not for everyone, and with kits like this it is near impossible even for professional repair shops.

Radio Shack vs Akron Canton iPhone Repair for Fixing Broken iPhone

October 9th, 2014 No Comments »

We get tons of traffic to our site from people looking to have phones repaired by Radio Shack.  Our repairs are a better option for most people in America than Radio Shack.  This short blog will spell out why Akron Canton iPhone Repair is a better option for fixing broken iPhone screens than Radio Shack for MOST Americans.

Radio Shack recently started experimenting with in store repairs in select markets.  Those markets are very limited, as of the time of this writing it was only roughly 10 cities.  Only certain Radio Shack stores in those cities actually repair phones in the store.  Dallas/Fort Worth is one of those areas.  I called several stores in the area and I finally found a store with in-store iPhone repair after making 9 phone calls.  If you have most Radio Shack stores fix your phone, it must be mailed out.  In Canton, OH, the representative that I spoke with stated that the fastest turnaround for an iPhone screen repair is 3 days, but they sometimes take up to 10 days.  YOU ARE WITHOUT A PHONE FOR UP TO 10 DAYS!!!!

At Akron Canton iPhone Repair you call us to schedule a repair in store OR for our long distance customers, we send you a FREE LOANER PHONE before you ever part with your phone.  We aren’t going to send you some cheap flip phone either, it will be an iPhone or another smartphone.  Simply call 330-866-0446 and schedule your mail in repair with a FREE LOANER PHONE.  This program has taken off since we started it, requiring us to buy more phones to use as loaners.

The best part about our service is that our repair costs far less than Radio Shack and you don’t have to be without a phone for up to 10 days!  We cover the shipping for our loaner phone and your phone.  Our repair of a broken iPhone 5s screen was $25 cheaper as of 10-06-2014.

You save money on your phone repair vs Radio Shack AND you don’t have to go one day without a phone, even if using our mail-in service.

To schedule your phone repair (mail-in or walk-in) call 330-866-0446 today!

We repair more than just iPhones, we repair most cell phones and some tablets.

While the name of our business is Akron Canton iPhone Repair leads you on to think we only repair iPhones, we repair most major smart phones. We had many request to repair more devices because “the place at the mall” and other places would not even get these people a quote, because they limited their business to strictly iDevices. While we do not keep inventory of parts for other phones, we can get them from our supplier. There are just too many devices with different colors and different carriers for us to logistically keep it all in stock. No deposit is needed on most orders, just your word is all that is needed, and if your phone is not functioning, feel free to take advantage of out FREE loan a phone if one is available. I order the parts on your word so you do not have to make 2 trips and waste your valuable time to get me a deposit. After your part comes in I will call/text you and make an appointment for repair, most repairs are 30 minutes long. We have successfully repaired many Samsung Galaxy devices, numerous LG G2, Droid MAXX, Evo, and Motorola Razr just to name a few. It is helpful to have the model number when calling for a quote, as several of these devices are very similar but the price range varies.

iPhone Repaired While You Wait

October 8th, 2014 No Comments »

At Akron Canton iPhone Repair, we repair your device while you wait. There is no need to leave your device with us for days, as with some other places. We schedule appointments so that YOU are the only person that our attention is focused on. Our shop is located in East Sparta, OH, just minutes from Dover, New Philadelphia, Canton, and Massillon.

What makes us different than the shop in the mall?

First, as stated earlier, we schedule appointments, so you do not have to leave your phone or come back in a couple of hours because we are too busy. We keep most parts (including odd parts like extra cameras and charging ports) in stock so that you don’t have to wait for parts to be ordered for your phone. The person running the business is the person fixing the phones, not somebody that is upset about having to work on a weekend. We strive to answer the phone every time it rings unless we are in the middle of a repair. You will never hear “Press 1 for sales, 2 for appointments…” This is the business owner’s full time job, we are not some guy who may have fixed one or two phones, we have repaired several thousand devices just this year. If we break your phone in the process of repairing it, we have assumed that risk, and we replace or repair it (try this with a friend installing a screen).  We are in a small town, so you don’t have to put up with the headaches of fighting mall traffic.  We offer FREE loaner phones if you are utilizing our mail in repair service We just treat you like we would like our family treated.

If you are interested in scheduling an appointment or utilizing our mail in phone repair service with a FREE loaner phone, call 330-866-0446.

I Dropped My Phone in Water, What Should I Do?

October 7th, 2014 No Comments »

“I dropped my phone in water, what should I do?”

Let’s start with the obvious answer, remove the phone from the water.  After you have removed your phone from the water, shake as much water as you can from the phone and dry it off as best you can.  if your phone has a removable battery, remove it.  Place your phone (and battery) in a bag of rice and leave it for a couple of days. Your phone may or may not be revived by these steps.  These are the standard steps that most people know, and where your hope ends if you have most carrier issued insurance plans.

At Akron Canton iPhone Repair, we have been working on water damaged phones for awhile.  We are able to revive many phones, even when the bag of rice trick fails.  We aren’t going to lie and tell you that all phones are able to be saved, but we have had success in many cases after a phone was declared dead by others.  We have invested in equipment to clean mineral deposits and corrosion from the printed circuit boards on your phone.  We carry screens, cameras, batteries, and charging ports (all in stock) so you do not have to wait for these parts to be ordered. Sometimes, even if your phone is not 100% working, we are able to recover your photos or other data from the phone.  We hear from customers all of the time that they don’t care if the phone is saved, they just want the irreplaceable photos of their kids to be saved.

If you’ve dropped your iPhone or Samsung Galaxy in the toilet, the lake, or the neighbor’s swimming pool, call us at Akron Canton iPhone Repair 330-866-0446 and let us try to revive your phone.

As always, if we can’t fix your phone, there is no charge to you!
